Grand jury indicts father in toddler manslaughter case

On Monday, July 21, a Fairfax County grand jury indicted Miles Harrison, 49,of Purcellville, for manslaughter in the July 8 death of his 21-month-old adopted son, Chase Harrison. Chase died after apparently being left in a hot car all day while his father was at work in Herndon.

On Tuesday, Harrison reported to the Fairfax County Court and surrendered himself. Harrison was taken into custody by the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office and is being held pending a $5,000 bond. A court date has been set for Aug. 27.
