Class Acts

Great Falls Art Camp: The Great Falls Art Center will hold its annual art camp through the month of August for children ages 6-teens.

Campers may sign up for one week, two weeks or more. Each week will be Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 pm. Instruction will be different for each week in drawing painting, sculpture and art appreciation.

Following the classes. campers may use the pool until 3 p.m.

Cartoon workshop: Jan Watkins, a professional cartoonist, teaches children how to create cartoon strips and develop humorous characters.

Watkins has been published in National Geographic magazine, corporate brochures and other publications in New York, Boston and Washington, DC. She has taught cartooning in Reston, Oakton and Herndon for four years.

The workshops are being offered at Frying Pan Park Aug. 12-13, and NOVA, Loudoun campus, on Aug. 19, 20, and 21.
