Albert D. Mott

Albert D. Mott, 87, a professor of European history at the American University since 1958, died June 3 at his home in Reston.

He was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Glens Falls, N.Y., to the late DeWitt C. and Anna Prece Mott. Dr. Mott was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He received a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Siv Mott; and a brother, Clifford Mott of Westport, Conn.; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews, and friends.
